The Who announce Wembley Stadium show for 2019: How to get tickets

The Who have announced a huge new London date for 2019.

Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend will bring their iconic rock outfit to Wembley Stadium on July 6.

It will be the Who’s first London show for more than two years, having last played at the Royal Albert Hall in April 2017.

The band will perform with symphonic accompaniment at this Wembley show, and are set to be joined by guitarist and back-up singer Simon Townshend, keyboardist Loren Gold, bassist Jon Button and drummer Zak Starkey.

Support will come from Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder and Kaiser Chiefs, with more acts still to be announced.

Speaking about the upcoming tour, guitarist Townshend said: “Roger christened this tour Moving On! I love it. It is what both of us want to do. Move on, with new music, classic Who music, all performed in new and exciting ways. Taking risks, nothing to lose.”

Daltrey said: “Be aware Who fans! Just because it’s The Who with an orchestra, in no way will it compromise the way Pete and I deliver our music. This will be full throttle Who with horns and bells on.”

The Who, widely considered as one of the greatest British rock bands of all time, are set to release their first new album for 13 years later this year.
